Some sweet little newborns I photographed -
I planned on posting this image for Easter. It's not a new image of mine, but it's one of my favorites from a trip to an Arizona mission a couple years ago (or so.) Looking at it makes me grateful. For what He endured for me. Happy belated Easter, everyone!
This last week, I had a hard drive failure, but it gave me more to be grateful for. I have some people I'd like to publicly thank. My computer is NOT up and running yet, but it's getting there. I've been really good about backups, so no worries. If you're waiting for prints from me, you will still get them....the images are not lost. But the thought of any miscellaneous files I might have missed in my backups, and the thought of reinstalling my operating system, all of my applications, and configuring everything the way I had it was daunting. So I was almost ready to pay for data recovery. Almost. The fact that it costs an arm and a leg made me cringe. I actually got a quote from one company for $10,000 to $25,000. Yeah right.
Well, thanks to Pam Biasotti, a fellow photographer in San Francisco, I didn't have to go that route. She suggested I have someone take a look to see if the drives would boot with a good motherboard, and if so, to get the data copied onto an external drive. So there's thank you number one...THANK YOU PAM! My second thank you goes out to Kris at the Circuit City on Brentwood. He went out of his way to get the work done quickly and at a great price. Nothing near what data recovery would cost. His employer needs to pay him well because I wouldn't doubt if he regularly gets job offers from customers! So THANK YOU KRIS!
I'm working on getting the computer up and running, hopefully by tomorrow. And the best part is, I don't have to reinstall everything. I just have to copy it onto my new drives. Anyway, lots to be grateful for.
So for the Cardinals' home opener tonight, I thought I'd dig up a photo from last year's parade. I don't know how you top a season that brought a new stadium and a World Series Championship, but I don't think it matters.

We don't have proof, but we do have evidence. And on somedays, you get to see it clearly. Not always at the most convenient time to pull out the camera! These were taken out the car window while travelling home from visiting family.
Did you know that there are over 2000 kids in Missouri waiting to be adopted? The Missouri Heart Gallery, exhibiting photographs of many of these children, held its St. Louis opening on June 16th at COCA. The Gallery is now on tour, and will exhibit through July 7th at West County Mall, South County Mall, Chesterfield Mall, and St. Louis Mills. You've got to see this exhibit! I had the priviledge of photographing 4 of these kids, and it was an incredible experience. These are vibrant, interesting, fun kids who need families. Without a family, these children are cared for under state supervision. But then they become adults with no family. Every milestone they have in their adult lives will be experienced without the ability to share it with a mother, a father, a brother, or a sister. You can also visit the Heart Gallery website and The Adoption Exchange for more info.

Session with Emery
Lauri photographed a sweet little guy who has recently undergone a double-lung transplant at the tender age of one. He and his mother are staying at the Ronald McDonald House while the rest of the family is out of state. He's been having his share of ups and downs, and the entire family thrives on the prayers and well wishes left for them in the guestbook on Emery's website, courtesy of a great organization called CaringBridge. Please visit Emery's website and include this smiley little guy in your prayers. Thanks.
*update* Emery is living at home now, enjoying family life, but still going through weekly chemo treatments so please keep them in your prayers.
